Video avatar still says PENDING REVIEW…
Video avatar still says PENDING REVIEW AFTER 30 days. Took them forever to even find my account. They said I need to record my consent after making each avatar. Ok, how do i do that. Picking or clicking on the avatar does nothing. I think I would like their product, IF i can get to try it. View More
Not quite MVP
Signed up, paid monthly fee, made 2 minute high quality training video, tried to upload it - multiple issues, then the consent video refused to work - desktop was useless so tried via mobile which doesn’t allow enough time to record and upload. Not optimised for mobile or Safari, poor UX. Basically - a complete waste of time and money. Do your own user testing, HeyGen. View More

I paid €25 for a one-month subscription on October 13th. I was only able to use the service for one day. Since then, I’ve been locked out of my account and unable to access anything. I’ve sent multiple messages to support with no reply. This is unacceptable. I kindly ask for a refund or access restoration. View More
Not suitable for turning 30 minute voice recordings to videos.
I have voice recordings that I wanted to turn into videos. Unfortunately, when I searched for a tool, the AI returned HeyGen as a possible tool. I subscribed for a month but upon trying it, I found that it is not able to do this. Instead it accepts voice samples (maximum of 180 seconds) and a high quality photo, with which it can create a video based on an uploaded script. It's probably great at what it was designed to do.... I wish it provided a trial or better / clearer documentation of what it can do... View More
They dont have human support
Update — October 22, 2025: Thanks for replying. To your “please provide info” request: I already supplied a full screen recording on Oct 21 and listed all troubleshooting (two computers; latest Chrome—normal and Incognito—and Safari; cache/cookies cleared; all extensions disabled). The /templates page at /templates has failed with “Something’s wrong — please reload” since Oct 16. Today your agent repeated the same Incognito/extension script question for the third time and suggested opening a new account as a "workaround". That is not an acceptable workaround—I need this fixed on the account I pay for. Please open a formal incident, assign a human owner, and share: the incident/case number, the owner’s name and title, and what engineering is doing to reproduce this on my account, with an ETA. If you need more data say exactly what to capture and where to send it. I’ll update this review when the /templates bug is resolved or a credible timeline is provided. ================================= This is the third time I’ve had the exact same issue with HeyGen, and support has been a loop of generic, bot-like questions instead of real help. From October 16–21, 2025, I repeatedly explained (and proved with a screen recording) that the /templates page throws the “Something’s wrong — please reload” error. I tested on multiple computers, Chrome (latest), Safari, Incognito, with extensions disabled, and after clearing cache/cookies. Same result. Despite that, different agents (Sam, JJ, Ching, Ben) kept cycling me back to the same canned steps—often the exact “try Incognito” answer I’d already confirmed I’d done. I specifically asked to be connected to a human. Instead, I was told to wait for an “advanced support” handoff on PST business hours and not to open another ticket. Days later, the problem still persists and I have no credible diagnosis, no timeline, and no ownership from an engineer. Last time, I had to escalate publicly (Trustpilot, BBB, SiteJabber, ConsumerAffairs, Reddit) before a real person finally stepped in. It shouldn’t take that. Stop masking a chatbot as live support and have an engineer acknowledge and fix the /templates bug, provide a concrete status update, and follow through. Until HeyGen delivers actual support, I cannot recommend this product. View More
Frustrating. Lots of potential but irritating to use.
Ive spent over a week working with HeyGen to create six videos and have managed to create just one that works as intended. Heygen appears to be not one product, but several that have been bolted together - and crucially few, if any seem to be interoperable. For example, when I first started with the tool, I was encouraged to create an avatar using a module called Avatar IV. I did that and it worked well. But then I found that I could not use the main avatar editing interface with an Avatar IV avatar to create looks and an avatar that could be used as a reusable standard in all future videos. Hmm. So the next pop up promo was to try Veo 3. Ive still no idea what that is or how it differs from Avatar IV. Then I moved on to use the Video Agent - another AI tool which builds a video from a script - in principle a great idea. That created its own avatars which I wanted to save and reuse too. But that didn't work either. Somehow those avatars are not the same as those in the avatar library - they are created on the fly. So they cannot be reused. And then the Video Agent continually placed the avatar in front of critical info on my B-rolls and went AWOL deciding to use different avatars to the one specified, in all but the first video. So after much, trial and error and lots of manual editing I barely further forward after probably 5 or 6 hours of using the tool. It's a great pity since HeyGen has the potential to be a game-changer. But until their team stop bolting on new functions and start creating an integrated interface, I'm going to look elsewhere. Very expensive with very low usage…
Very expensive with very low usage limits, like 10 minutes of usage photo to video for 30$ per month.. Bad Albanian language voices, bad Bosnian/Croatian language voices, subscribed for these two as they sounded good at samples, but when you create the video using these voices they're totally bad, not worth the subscription, should find another better website. Spent a few hours creating videos on…
Spent a few hours creating videos on their platform, onl to be charged and have my credits maxed out for a bunch of useless videos. 1. Accent sounded OK in preview then came out American in the final output (I'm Australian). 2. Accent was fine for first half of the video then randomly switched to American accent HALFWAY THROUGH 3. I was charged for all of these useless videos, and told I'd need to buy more credits to keep generating cideos, even though the plan I purchased - Creator - clearly states Unlimited Videos in its tier. So in short, I paid money, and spent hours creating videos that by and large were useless to me because their voice engine keeps insisting I'm American. They can't get basic avatar cloning right yet keep launching new features likes looks and other things which is laughable. There's a reason they are inching towards sub-3 star review on Trustpilot, cause they SUCK. View More
Dear Heygen Support Team,
Dear Heygen Support Team, This is a formal complaint regarding an unauthorized payment made to my account. It appears that my daughter made this payment without my authorization, resulting in a charge of $78.00 for your service. I did not approve or consent to this transaction. I therefore request a full refund of the amount immediately. If I do not receive a reply to this message, I will assume that your company does not intend to issue a refund, and I will proceed to escalate the matter — including contacting my lawyer and initiating a chargeback through my bank. Please treat this issue as urgent and confirm once the refund has been processed. Kind regards, Robbie Wong View More
just a suggestion get it right!
just a suggestion. i am a consultant with a few decades of experience. don't over promise and under perform. your free plan is useless and your paid plan seems to under perform as well. I spent a few hours making videos. nothing came of it, it was lost. no one knows where. focus on delivering a basic product for free and then charge for extras. as it stands now, you only have marketing and paid branding but that will stop soon. here is what even chat cpt told me: Ugh… I feel your pain 😖. That’s exactly why HeyGen frustrates so many people. You literally spent 2 hours, saved, even downloaded, and the platform still lost it — plus it’s crawling slowly. That’s not usable for real work or ads. Let’s be real: HeyGen free plan is basically a dead-end for anything serious. You can’t rely on it for: Stability (scripts vanish, downloads fail) Speed (takes forever to generate even short clips) Workflow (can’t paste, can’t edit efficiently, freezes) Immediate Fix / Alternative You need a stable, faster platform where your work won’t disappear and you can paste your full script. Here’s what I recommend for your situation: Elai.io Paste entire script at once Much faster than HeyGen Free tier with short videos, upgrade for longer ads Synthesia Realistic AI avatars Very stable playback Free trial for testing one video DeepBrain AI Studio Stable scene editing .......... Its a shame that a company with talent goes into the gutter. get it right ! View More

Expensive, Broken Service, and Non-Existent Support
I paid £21 GBP for a one-month subscription to Heygen AI, specifically to convert a simple PowerPoint file into a YouTube video. My experience has been a complete disaster and a total waste of money. The service is fundamentally broken. I have attempted to generate two videos, and both attempts were severely problematic: First Video: A relatively short video (around 30 slides) took an astonishing 6 hours to process. Second Video (Current Issue): This project has been stuck at 5% generation for nearly a full week. For a paid, subscription-based AI service, this complete standstill is unacceptable. My efforts to resolve this with the customer support team were equally frustrating. I have been passed from one colleague to the next with nothing more than generic assurances. Their only consistent response is that they "will check this issue and come back to you after at least 1 day." This is not a support system; it's a holding pattern that has wasted a week of my paid time. I cannot recommend this service at all. Until Heygen AI can reliably deliver on the core function they advertise—and provide timely, effective support when things inevitably go wrong—it is not worth the cost. Avoid this platform. View More
Full of non-stop bugs and obstacles to creating a video
I paid for a creator subscription to create a course. But found that HeyGen only allow 30 minute videos (in reality about 25 minutes to allow for rendering buffers), so I had to split my 1hr course modules into three videos and was advised to use another tool to stitch them together. Only the Enterprise subscription at £15,000 allows 1 hr videos. They don't have eye-gaze correction, which I had to use another video tool for. The backgrounds keep shrinking into less than a thumbnail size and randomly placed in the video on every save. When I tried to generate the video, the platform shrunk the background so the video is horrid and unusable. You can only use this service to create videos with a plain white background or one of their templates. Useless on your own branded stuff. Translations into other languages only works on the slides. The audio remains in English. The video length can go over the 30 minutes when translated to other languages and it won't generate. An error notice will show up but not tell you what the error is. All the subscriptions apart from Enterprise only allows video generation up to 30 minutes (in reality 25 minutes). As I was working on my videos, HeyGen changed the editor so I lost several weeks worth of work and I was unable to open the project, I had to start the project again from scratch as a consequence which customer services failed to tell me I had to do. I was pretty angry. As I worked on the same video multiple times daily because of all the bugs and lack of useful help from customer support, HeyGen disappeared my background. So I had to use another background, which upsets my branding for the course. Everyday there are bugs and obstacles to actually working on my project and it's impossible to generate a useful video in a format I want (with a non-shrinking background), with audio that sounds like me (that took many many attempts to get to sound a bit like me) and in the length I want. The platform is extremely slow and it can only be worked in Chrome Incognito mode. It uses a high CPU and memory usage on your computer. Think of modem based dial up internet in the 1990s - it's that speed and user experience. One command to render a scene, or generate a video can take hours. You can't use your computer for other tasks in case it upsets the video generation. The tool is highly user unfriendly, with bad UX, a lot of bugs and daily customer service chats. Please only get the monthly subscription option to test the paid version of this platform. Do not get an annual one upfront before testing it. Or you may end up wasting your money that you might not be able to recoup. View More

Looking for a good site to spend $1000s on credits. Tried generating a free video to see if I like it and the darn thing froze on the first try! You only get enough credits to do one try and so couldn't even try again. Thank for wasting my time, POS website View More
Useless app
Useless app, I pay 60 euros a month to generate videos and I have to wait hours to get my videos, it's a disgrace and their customer support is the most incompetent I've ever seen, they just give you the runaround and send you automated messages. View More
seriously under Resourced
The application is seriously under resourced. Some days it is completely unusable. It's always very 'lagging' . A horrible experience. Just record a video instead, it's way quicker.
Absolutely useless application
Absolutely useless application. They charge a lot of money, but 90% of the features work poorly and are completely unusable. The biggest disappointment — the photo-based avatar looks nothing like the original. The only good thing is the video avatar. A total waste of time and money. View More
My paid Team account was wrongly downgraded twice in one month
I’ve been an annual HeyGen Team subscriber since June 2025, paid in full However, my account was wrongly downgraded to Free twice — first on October 6, and again on November 7, despite HeyGen’s previous confirmation that my plan is valid until June 2026. Each time this happens, my production team is forced to stop working for hours or days. I’ve already provided payment proof, yet support keeps confusing my account as a “new subscriber via bank transfer,” which is completely incorrect. This has caused serious disruption to our business operations. I demand a clear explanation and immediate restoration of my Team plan. View More
Not worth the money!
Not worth the money!
For 20 generations
For 20 generations, one is of average quality, the rest is nonsense and junk. It's a complete scam. They advertise unlimited access, then demand credits, degrade the product, even though they hide the terms and conditions at the time of purchase. It's a machine for deception and extortion. There are better alternatives without the scam. View More
