A complete scam. Stay away from Akool at all costs! my email is gcd1392@gmail At first, they lure you in with a small number of credits to make the platform seem functional. But once your credits run out, you realize you can’t buy the same amount again — you're forced into upgrading to a much more expensive plan, like the PRO plan. That’s exactly what happened to us. We even went for the annual subscription, thinking it would be a long-term solution. Big mistake. After uploading just 5 very short videos, the system stopped working entirely. No more video generation. Not even photo generation. Every single file fails, over and over again. And this has been going on for days. We contacted support multiple times — not a single reply. Not even an automated message. They just took the money and vanished. Looking through other reviews, we see we’re not alone. Many users have experienced the exact same thing. This isn’t just poor service — this is predatory behavior. Their model is designed to burn your credits quickly, force you into higher plans, and then completely fail to deliver any service. Timeline of my nightmare: 23 June 2025 – I email support: “I am not satisfied with your app, can you please cancel my subscription and refund me?” 24 June 2025 – Akool replies: “Refunds are not provided as they are not required by California law and are outlined in our Terms of Service… If you have utilized any of your credits or a dispute has already been created, a refund cannot be issued.” Translation: We keep your money because we legally can. 27 June 2025 – I explain that core features (automatic subtitles, translation) simply don’t work or can’t be customized. 28 June 2025 – Akool answers: “Please share with us examples of the translated videos and the faulty subtitles.” Classic stall tactic—shift the burden back to the customer instead of fixing the product. 24 July 2025 – A full month later, nothing has been resolved, my subscription is still active, and I’ve had to open payment disputes via Revolut just to stop further billing. Why you should stay away Non‑functional features – Even basic tools like automatic subtitles are buggy or half‑built. Zero accountability – They hide behind “California law” and their own TOS to refuse refunds, no matter how broken the service is. Stalling support – Endless requests for “examples” instead of delivering a fix or a refund. Shady billing – Subscription remains active after cancellation requests; I had to file disputes to halt the charges. Bottom line: Akool delivers a sub‑par product, cites legal loopholes to avoid refunds, and keeps charging after cancellation. I just purchased a one-month subscription to this company to colorize black and white videos based on the information provided on their website, and what I found was a basic video editor that is completely useless and a crap. This is fraud. Absolutely malicious. Honestly, I wouldn’t even give it one star. My money was withdrawn without my consent. To explain in detail: I paid for the Pro annual plan on July 23, 2025. Since then, I haven’t made any upgrades or changed any credits, yet on August 24, a charge of $912 was withdrawn without my permission! It’s an annual plan — that means the next payment should be a year later, right? What’s even worse is that no receipt was issued! How can something like this be allowed? I would never have noticed if I hadn’t checked my credit card statement. If you’re reading this, please go check yours too! I absolutely cannot trust this company anymore. To be charged such a large amount without knowing is just… unbelievable. I happened to catch it because I always check my statements, but what if I had stopped using the service? Would they keep secretly charging me without me even knowing? That fear is going to stay with me. I’m Japanese, and $912 is about ¥140,000 — that’s way too expensive. I’m furious, and honestly I’m not even sure if I’ll get my refund. What is going on here? If this is a system error, then isn’t it likely affecting many other people, not just me? Horrible product first of all
Horrible product first of all. They tricked me into a yearly subscription first off. I said monthly because I wanted to try it out first. But charged my card 1000 dollars for a year. Immediately I try and contact them to cancel and said they couldn’t because I’d used a few credits. And to top it all off there product isn’t good half of the stuff don’t even work. I choosed a 3 day Free Trial and decided not to use the Service. Its impossible to cancel the subscription, the "cancel Plan" Button on the website is the only one which doesnt react,i tried on PC and Smartphone with different Broswers, any other Button works. The "24/7 Chat Assistant" mentioned in the Help is nowhere to see. Support ignores email, its been over a week now. Dont trust them. edit: Of course i tried out the "manage plan"-Button, too. There was no chance to cancel, and when i tried to delete my credit card information it said i cant do changes when theres an active plan. Now, suddenly, without any more try from me, the sub is canceled. Finally. The 24/7 Help Chat bot i been talking about is the one u mention at your help site. I know theres not really one.
