Ortur LM2 Pro S2 5W so far so good
I have the Ortur LM2 Pro S2 5W, I am finding the learning curve is a bit difficult as this is my first time with no laser experience, but there are so many videos out there to try to help, the spec sheets for power and speed guides are helpful but I'm not yet finding the perfect mix for my projects. The ability to get a rough outline of where the project will be on your workspace is helpful to aline your materials. I don't love that even though it's in a metal enclosure with a fan and vent hose going out the window my whole house still smells like burnt wood, would be better if I had a garage or a shed to do this in. I am super excited to get my settings perfected for my crafts, right now this is a hobby, maybe it will become a business for me, maybe I need to try a different machine like a co2 laser insted of diode, but I'm committed to giving this one a fair shot before giving up on it. I am finding success the more I try and I am loving the results and the possibilities are endless once I have it perfected. So far so good thanks to guides and videos! Ortur company gives false shipping…
Ortur company gives false shipping details. The shipment was to be sent from Europe (Czech Republic) with free delivery. Unfortunately, it was shipped from China. Additional costs that were added are: 23% VAT, 15% Customs duty, UPS customs handling $50 . If you buy the device for $700 Additional costs are $340. The company does not write back to emails, so you can also forget about the warranty. Sending an email silence like the Chinese government on the Tiananmen Square massacre. I use this Brand laser for 3 years now, I am very very satisfied or the machine and laser module. I owned 5.5 - 10 and 20 W, rotary and the results are even perfect I recommend it as well

I upgraded from the OLM 3 LE to the OLM 3 20Watt machine and I love it. This machine has been flawless and it's so fast and versatile. Ortur shipped it quickly and I've added a few accessories that all came quickly and very nicely packaged as well. This was a late addition to my setup…
This was a late addition to my setup and wasn't sure about getting one. It took some adjusting in the software and practice to get the hang of but is a fun new option for engraving things. The construction is solid and is heavy so it isn't easily moving around on its own, but light enough to store on a shelf. The versatility of the chuck options is very handy and can handle a wide array of items. View More

Well, I watched so many YouTube videos about laser engravers, I then came to the conclusion that Ortur seemed to be the best option for me and my needs, and yes, I was correct. I now own three Ortur lasers, LM3 10w - LM3 LE 10w+20w and the LM2 S2 Pro, all of my lasers are still working hard and without any problem, I have made hundreds of engravings and still have not needed to adjust any of the belts, the build quality of the LM3 range is excellent, strong and sturdy with amazing accuracy and speed, and as for the customer support, well they are second to none, on the few times that I have had a question to ask, I always got a reply back within 24hrs via email. A must-have for a woodworker!
When I started my woodworking business, I knew that a laser engraver was going to be a worthy investment. When doing research on brands and machines I landed on Ortur and immediately knew it was going to be the right laser for me. I ended up purchasing the LM3 10w laser. I announced that I would be offering personalized items and started making sales with it immediately. I use it on just about every project consisting mainly of cutting boards and charcuterie boards and have now started utilizing its cutting capabilities as well as engaging leather patches for hats. When I first decided to buy a laser engraver I was kinda scared of not being able to operate it or learn the software. When I searched online the ortur brand always popped up and one day I said the hec with it and order the Lm2 s2. To my surprise it was fairly easy to put together since they have videos on how to on YouTube. With the grbl software it was a little challenging at first and thanks to customer support they was always there to help. Yes you need to wait in between messages, cause of the time difference but they was always there for me and I got to lasering in no time. That software actually helped me to start engraving and made it easy for me to transition onto lightburn. Now I’m on my second ortur. So if you are new to this go for it you won’t be disappointed they will work with you and guide you all the way through. View More

Not to be trusted
Would not recommend since they can't be trusted 😬 Their Facebook account manager promised release date and (more importantly) price and compatibility for their new release - the 40W laser module. Based on this information I disregarded what other manufacturers were already selling at the time, and waited patiently while Ortur kept postponing release. When they finally did release, it was at a different price, and they are refusing to honor the original promise, despite being presented with screenshots of the conversation and having looked it up themselves. Furthermore I was being told that my current laser (OLM2) was compatible. Now they tell me I have to upgrade to OLM3, and refuse to give any discount for that either. They don't own up to their promises, and so I'm done trusting them with my money. Current machine works okay though. View More
