Customer support staff need additional training

Be aware this service charges additional $4.95 for ANY packages (including spam packets) that are sent to your account. I just discovered this after seeing a strange charge on my card and contacting customer support to complain. They told me they had no mechanism to limit or eliminate spam but that I "could contact the sender" of the junk mail package. Really? When I asked their support staff member to remove the charge, he terminated the chat dialogue box with a very rude "Take Care!" Note before signing up that Traveling Mailbox will charge you extra for all junk mail packages that get sent to your account. Prospective clients should know this up-front and this should not be buried in the fine print of the contract, as these are charges you can't really control and will add up quickly. I decided to switch services after a negative interaction with customer support staff member ("Seth") and I recommend Traveling Mailbox evaluate how many other customers had negative interactions with this staff member and/or terminated service(s) after engaging with him/her via customer support. It appears to be time for this company to overhaul their customer support training. You aren't a major telecom or cable company, and I take this opportunity to remind you that there is a lot of competition for your service out there. The customer is always right. Thanks, Anthony M. Hidden Fees, Arrogant Staff

Decent experience UNTIL RECENT. Will be changing services. Hidden fees! Arrogance! The base prices themselves are good, but all the fees ad up over time. I’ve had a few shipments now that have cost more than they quoted me. One was quoted to ship for $14, so I approved it, & after the fact, they charged me $19 instead. This week, they quoted me a price of $15 to ship a package... I again approved it; they shipped it 2 days later, & charged me $35! THIRTY FIVE DOLLARS!!! Rip-off! If I’d known they were going to do that, I would’ve canceled the shipment. This isn’t fair business practice. When I called customer service, they said they couldn’t help, & to send an email... I emailed. They told me their practice was fair, & said I could take my business elsewhere if I didn’t like it. They don’t care. SO, I’m taking my business elsewhere. Unacceptable! View More

Avoid

Avoid. Stay away. Do not use this service. I have been waiting for my mail for 32 days. I have complained to the BBB (at this time there are 3 other BBB complaints) Traveling Mailbox does not divulge all of the information you need, for example they don't tell you that while, yes, there are numerous addresses to choose from, all of the mail is routed over to their east coast processing center. All of it. Which apparently takes 2 or 3 weeks. Then maybe another 1 or 2 weeks before they actually process your mail. View More

WHAT A FRIGGEN JOKE..

WHAT A FRIGGEN JOKE... just move along. I was there 2 years and they are selective about the mail they accept. They’ll just ‘Return to Sender’ any ole thing they feel like and won’t even bother telling you. If you do business with Google be advised, you’re not aloud correspondence with them ... hahaha. I found a much much better service. Also, corresponding with live chat felt like I was talking with an ex-convict a pretty shady looking bunch. The larger problem is changing your address later on which is a real pain which means a NEW USPS Form 1583 is required by the United States Postal Service to be completed by everyone giving permission to receive your mail that needs a notary. Have fun with that... Good riddance. Be forewarned View More

BUYER BEWARE

BUYER BEWARE! Our experience with Traveling Mailbox has been downright awful. We've been on the road full time this summer and opted to go with TM as our mail forwarding service. What a terrible decision. Weeks went by before our mail began to TRICKLE in. I'm talking a couple pieces of junk mail only. No sign of the test letters we sent our account or the test letter TRAVELING MAILBOX SENT THEMSELVES. To make matters worse, their customer service was pitiful. We had to call constantly and even when agents would promise to get in touch with us the next day, they never actually called (this happened three times). However, the real cherry on the top was their refusal to offer us any sort of refund when we reached out with all our complaints. Instead they blamed all the issues on Covid. I don't see Amazon taking weeks to get packages out due to Covid, why can't you guys scan some mail? Worst customer experience I've had in a long long time. Go kick rocks View More

Arrogant Non-Helpful Customer Service

Customer support is arrogant, rude and disinterested in offering to do anything even slightly out of the norm to accommodate their customers. So glad I figured this out early on in the process and cancelled the account before ever routing any mail through their service, otherwise I might be stuck with them like so many other reviewers. Some free advice for this company: don't hire people with an attitude of arrogance and entitlement that obviously have a massive chip on their shoulder to handle your customer service. The type of people that are interested in these virtual mail services tend to be pretty educated and accomplished and aren't likely to have much tolerance for that type of attitude, nor should they. Treat people with respect and go out of your way to make them happy if you want to succeed! View More

It took 36 hours for my last piece of mail to be scanned. The address they gave me was not accepted by websites as a valid address, so Traveling mailbox gave me another version of the address but refused to correct it on their website. In other words, I cannot login to the app to get see the valid address. When I switch to another company, I must go through the hassle if changing my address again. View More

Our "street address" that was given to…

Our "street address" that was given to us was a very strange format: 000 Milwaukee Ave ste 111 PBT 11111 Chicago, IL 00000 I tried to use this as a mailing address with several online portals, including my credit union and a government agency. It was automatically rejected due to the format. The "ste XXX PBT XXXXX" portion was literally not usable. When I brought it up to their customer service team, they were unhelpful and this was their response: "Hi James, That is correct and unfortunately what you were trying to use the address for is not the type of service we provide." They claim to be a traveling "mailbox" but the address can't be used as an actual mailing address for anything important. I switched to a PO Box and never looked back. This service is awful. Don't waste your time. View More

Consumer beware.

Not a very good experience for us. Really not that cheap. App difficult to use, counter intuitive. forwarding mail is a joke. Slow to open/scan. Too bad we had a bad experience, we had high hopes, not for us. View More

The service can be either great or poor depending on who is helping you; if you need anything done promptly and correctly then you want Jennifer or Tori who are there in the daytime. Otherwise is you deal with either Gregory, Mike or Jacob just forget about it and don't waste your time because they have a no can do attitude. Though no one is ever rude. View More

They recently closed my mailbox address. I've had to spend hours updating all my accounts. They provided only one month notice and did not compensate me for my inconvenience.

Overall, a great experience so far

I have only used Traveling Mailbox for a little over one month, but so far, their customer service has been excellent. However, there is one thing folks should know about before signing up. If you use any address other than their NC address, your mail will be sent from your address to their NC address via 2-day air before it is processed. I confirmed this with Jennifer today (7.9.21). So, there is an automatic delay of 2 days, plus whatever time it takes to scan a document before you can read your mail. One piece of mail I received today has an estimated scan time of 19 hours. So, to be conservative, you should expect a 3-day delay in reading your mail. View More

Not great

I ran my business with Traveling Mailbox for about five years before making the decision to switch to another service. Thing started out relatively fine, but an accumulation of worsening experiences motivated me to look elsewhere. Here was the progression: 1) Lost mail - Mail forwarded without a tracking number seemed to never arrive. This might be understandable on a rare occasion, but nowhere near the frequency at which it actually occurred. 2) Partial label scans - While running a business, I needed all of the information contained on the shipping labels of arriving packages. About halfway through my tenure with them, they made the decision to scan only a portion of the labels, hence omitting vital information needed for properly forwarding the package. 3) Mediocre interface - The interface wasn’t terrible, but was quite buggy at times, especially when inputting the information needed to forward packages. Visually, it also left a lot to be desired. 4) Customer service - Some of the agents were definitely nice and helpful, though there were others who clearly had very little empathy for the client when an issue arose. 5) Sudden cancellation - After five years of being a loyal customer, they suddenly cancelled my account because they seemed to be offended that I disputed an unauthorized charged they assessed to my account after attempting to resolve it with them. This was done without warning and without regard to the potential impact it had on my business. They offered my the same address if I signed up again and agreed to pay the bank charge of the dispute, but given the egregiousness of the decision made by them (not to mention the aforementioned issues), I took it as an opportunity to move on. I have since contracted PostScanMail, which has proven superior in all areas to date. View More

Great until things get a little difficult

Everything's great until things get a little bit difficult; they are very bad at handling problems. I've been a client for 4 years. Until now, my experience has been positive. However, they've been extraordinarily late in processing my mail. Today, I had a critical package overnighted to them, they had promised they'd process it the same day. Yet, they didn't. When I confronted them and spoke to the owner Mike, he offered no sympathy nor solution and told me that I'll just have to wait. He never apologized for lying to me, despite having the chat logs on hand. His employee Jacob was awful to me, almost anti-human. These guys are done. They were great before, but awful now. Look elsewhere. I am moving. View More

Poor service with sloppy handling of…

Poor service with sloppy handling of any issues. No one is interested to help. They are only good at charging your credit card on a regular basis. I've been a subscriber for 5 years. Three separate accounts. A few years ago most of the agencies I tried to register their virtual address with stopped accepting their San Francisco address as valid. Over time they raised the subscription rates knowing it's hard to migrate some old established accounts. Ok, that's sneaky. When I requested cancellation for the two unused accounts in 2020 they cancelled all three. No much communication about it. I didn't even know the main account was cancelled until a couple of months down the road. Once I found it out they offered no reinstatement, only creating a new account with new address at a new rate. I am happy I had a backup plan with a different virtual mail provider. View More

The worst mailbox service, deleted all my scanned letters

This is the worst mailbox service you can receive. They deleted all my scanned letters and data without notifying or informing me upfront. I closed my account after two years or poor service and expected to get a copy of my scanned letters only to find out they deleted all my data just after canceling my account!!!! I talked to two agents Gregory and Mike to get help, and they are really horrible, don't care to help and keep arguing for no reason. I asked to talk to a higher level manager and they refused to connect me or escalate. I'm going to sue this horrible company. View More
